More into sweet than savoury? We've got you covered. This almond pie is perfeito  when coming out of your outdoor oven. You can have the base cooked and the filling ready to go in while you're eating dinner; then, once you're finished, warm almond pie awaits!

Ingredients for base:

  • 1 egg
  • 100g of sugar
  • 100g of flour
  • 100g of butter

 Ingredients for filling: 

  • 100g of butter
  • 100g of sugar
  • 150g of almonds/sliced or cut thinly
  • 6 tbsp of milk


Preheat oven to 350 degrees Celsius.

To make the base, put the sugar with the melted butter and the egg in mixing bowl. Mix the ingredients until it is a nice and creamy. Add the flour and mix it all together again. Grease the baking pie dish and spread the base into the dish. When base is golden brown, remove dish from oven and remove embers from oven to cool. Set aside.

While base is cooking, make filling for pie. In a saucepan, add the butter, the sugar, the milk and the almonds. Keep at low heat and stirring constantly to avoid burning. When it gets a little brown, remove the saucepan from the heat and turn it off. Pour the filling over the dough and place it inside slightly cooled oven. Do not restart oven. Let sit in oven for around 20 minutes until filling warms and begins to caramelize. Enjoy!
